Storefo was created during the course Prototyping in Interaction Design. The goal of the project was to create an application that supports users when grocery shopping.
Sometimes products don’t come with the information you need. It could be because it is written in a foreign language, contains additives you don’t know about or doesn’t inform of its environmental impact. Storefo is a solution to this problem. Storefo allows users to scan a products barcode and get provided with all the information they need.
When a product is scanned Storefo provides users with all the information they need. First of all, the products composition, allergies and nutritional information are displayed. Further more, the application visualizes how much environmental impact the product has, as well as informing the users about potentially harmful E-numbers.
In order to take users allergies or diets into consideration, the users can add items to a blacklist. This makes the application warn the users when a scanned item contains a ingredient the user wishes to avoid.
There is no guarantee the products information are given in a language you know. Therefore, the users can change the language in Storefo, making the application translate the product information to any language they wish. Additionally, the users can read up on how Storefo measures the environmental impact and harmful E-numbers.
